Lead Software Engineer

Lead Software Engineer (Golang/TypeScript/React)Mexico City, Mexico – remote. Please note that while this role is remote, we require team members to be based in this region for periodic in-person meet-ups. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, working 9-5 EST/EDT, with potential on-call support requiredWe are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team, taking technical ownership of a high-impact, customer-facing product, which some of the world's biggest companies, central banks and non-governmental organisations use to build revenue and volume through data and analytics.

What success looks like in this role: Taking responsibility for the quality of the code and architecture delivered by your teamInfluencing, coaching and line managing the team engineersAligning your team on goals, outcomes and timelinesCollaborating with Product and Technology teams to translate our strategic roadmap into actionable tasks; providing visibility on delivery progress outside your teamDesigning, developing, testing, maintaining and enhancing the Golang microservices and frontend applications you're responsible forDelivering beautiful, performant interfaces, driven by our design system, for our customersImproving the performance and observability of our services and applicationsImproving the quality of life of your team and the business, through automation, process improvement or new technologiesAbout the team: You will join a technical team of approximately 30 technologists with a key purpose of continuously and reliably collecting large amounts of financial data describing cross-border payments, then processing the data, verifying its quality and serving it to our users so that they can make informed business decisionsA typical team contains around three engineers and a Product ManagerYou will be interacting with various stakeholders across the business in addition to your immediate teamYou should apply if you can confidently: Line manage a team, coaching them to reach your level of expertiseWrite Golang services and web app backends, and deploy them in Docker containersWrite performant SQLBuild beautiful, componentised application frontends in React/TypeScriptUnderstand clean code principles and the language idioms of TypeScript and Go, experience reviewing code using these principles and establishing team quality standardsLearn and engage with a new business domain and productCommunicate complex topics to technical and non-technical peopleTalk about how you learn and improve your skillsThese skills will help, but aren’t essential: Applications with concurrent logic (i.e. goroutines)Building CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitLab CIConfiguring and using observability tools (e.g. Prometheus and Grafana)Experience utilising AI to increase productivity and efficiency of work and productionised AI toolsMaterialUIUsing Airflow, Python, TerrafromTech Stack: Golang, TypeScript, React, MaterialUI, MariaDB, Clickhouse, Gitlab, AWS, SQLAI Usage Disclaimer: At FXC Intelligence, we are enthusiastic about the use of AI tools and value candidates with experience or interest in AI technologies.
